Hetalia's Scott Freeman to appear at Otakon 2010

Baltimore, MD (July 16, 2010) – Otakon is pleased to welcome Scott Freeman, the voice actor who'll portray Britain/England in the U.S. release of Hetalia. Freeman joins several other main cast members as featured guests at the convention.

While his role in Hetalia is by far his largest to date, Freeman has been working at Funimation roughly five years as a voice actor on over 50 shows. While mostly in the background, fans may recognize his voice in many roles such as "Soldier J," "Man B," or "Thug A." He then began portraying more descriptive roles, including "Yellow Merchant," or "Green Shirt Brown Hat Man." This soon led to playing characters with actual names. Only in the last year or so he has begun playing larger parts, and his success in voice acting has grown.

A few of the titles featuring his talents are Pirates: One Piece, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood; the movie Conqueror of Shamballa, Big Windup, Desert Punk, Initial D, KenIchi, Linebarrels, Romeo X Juliet, Soul Eater, and The Tower of Druaga.

Otakon will premiere episodes 1-10 of Hetalia, as well as host two autograph sessions for the U.S. cast, which includes Todd Haberkorn as Italy, Patrick Seitz as Germany, Christopher Bevins as Japan, Clarine Harp as China, Jerry Jewell as Russia, J. Michael Tatum as France, Eric Vale as America and, of course, Freeman as U.K./ Britain/ England. Unfortunately, Eric Vale is unable to appear at Otakon this year. There will be, however, a very special video message from him to be played exclusively at the Hetalia cast panel. You won't want to miss it!

Hetalia Season One will be released on DVD on September 14.

Otakon 2010 will be held July 30 – August 1 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
